You might have been in some discussions where technical person asked you - which table do you need? Is it customizing or application table ?
Well, let's understand what are these.
Customizing Table:
- When a table is created as Customizing, it basically indicates that records in the table can be maintained via transports.
For eg. below is a customizing table, and after maintaining the records, it will be captured under TR.
Note: If you try to add new entry in this table, then a pop up will appear where you need to provide TR details, then only entry will be saved in the table.
Application Table:
- In these tables, records can be maintained directly, without Transports.
- This will be mainly used when the table is required to hold the system dependent records.
- The records are usually maintained as cut over activities, after related changes are imported to target system.
